Input & Output

Input file: one local video with a readable primary video track.
Range: exact start and end time. The end must be later than the start and within the detected duration.
Output: one MP4 by default or an optional WebM file. Exact trimming re-encodes the selected range.
Tracks: the primary video track and, when present and decodable by your browser, the primary audio track. Additional tracks are not preserved.

Usage Advice

Keep the tab open while the trimmed MP4 or WebM file is being created.
Long or high-resolution videos can use substantial memory and take longer because processing runs in the browser.
Preview the range before export to confirm the start and end points.
Choose MP4 for broader compatibility or WebM when it better fits your browser-based workflow.

Limitations & Compatibility

Exact trimming re-encodes the selected range. It is not lossless stream copying and does not promise frame-perfect equivalence with the source.
Input and output support depends on the containers, codecs, and encoders available in your browser. A familiar file extension alone does not guarantee support.
Only the primary video and primary audio tracks are processed. Extra audio, subtitle, chapter, attachment, and metadata tracks are not preserved.
If the source has no audio track, it can produce a silent trimmed video. If an audio track exists but the browser cannot decode it, trimming is blocked.
This tool does not join clips, add transitions, edit captions, apply effects, or provide a full timeline editor.

Privacy & Security

Processing runs in your browser. The source video stays in page memory while this tool is open and is not uploaded by CrateX.app. The generated MP4 or WebM result is available for download or local file sharing and is not synced by default. Clear the tool, downloaded files, and site data on shared devices when needed.
