Image Format Converter
Convert images between WebP, PNG, JPEG, JPEG XL, and AVIF with adjustable quality and batch downloads; uploads also support AVIF and SVG. Default target format is WebP.
🚀 Quick Start
- Choose target format: WebP / PNG / JPEG / JPEG XL / AVIF
- Quality: applies to non‑PNG; higher is clearer and larger
- Transparency: PNG/WebP preserve alpha; JPEG will flatten transparent areas to white
- Select images: use the upload area below to click or drag & drop; multiple files supported
- Convert: click ‘Convert Images’; progress will update in real time
- Download results: download individually, or use ‘Download All’ to create a ZIP. Some browsers will show a save dialog and write directly to disk; others will auto‑download.
📌 Common Scenarios
- Web compatibility: convert WebP to JPEG/PNG for older devices/browsers
- Size control: convert PNG (photos) to JPEG or lower quality for emails/tickets
- Transparent assets: export PNG/WebP to keep transparency for icons/overlays
- Multiple variants: quickly export different formats for multi-platform assets
🎛️ Conversion Options & Parameters
- Target format: PNG/WebP keep transparency; JPEG is smaller (good for photos)
- Quality (non‑PNG): 10–100; higher means larger size
- Transparency: PNG/WebP support alpha; JPEG does not
🧭 Recommendations
- Warning: Large or extremely large images can consume significant memory and CPU instantly, potentially causing the browser to become unresponsive, the tab to be discarded, or conversions to fail. Please convert in batches and keep the page in the foreground during processing.
- Keep page in foreground during heavy processing on some devices
- Format tips: photos → JPEG; transparent/UI assets → PNG/WebP; compatibility → PNG/JPEG
- About WebP: smaller size, but slightly less compatible; for legacy targets use JPEG/PNG
⚠️ Limitations & Compatibility
- Transparency: JPEG does not support transparency; use PNG/WebP
- SVG note: rasterized at current render scale; complex SVGs may vary slightly
- EXIF: metadata may be stripped when converting to PNG/WebP for privacy/size
🔒 Privacy & Security
- All processing runs locally in your browser. No uploads.
❓ FAQ
Why can't I adjust quality for PNG?
PNG uses lossless compression and has no ‘quality’ parameter. To reduce size, use JPEG/WebP/AVIF or resize first.
Why is the converted file sometimes larger?
Different formats compress differently; converting a low‑quality JPEG to PNG can increase size a lot, while converting photos from PNG to JPEG (with suitable quality) usually reduces size. Try lowering quality or choosing another format.
How do I keep a transparent background?
Choose PNG or WebP. JPEG and BMP do not support transparency; transparent areas are flattened to an opaque color.
Why do colors look slightly different?
Color management/ICC handling differs by browser, and lossy compression (PNG→JPEG/WebP) can slightly change appearance; verify in your target environment.
Can SVG be converted to bitmap?
Yes. It will be rasterized to PNG/JPEG/WebP at the current render scale. If you need to keep vectors, use SVG directly or an SVG embedding an <image>.
